The Kick-Off Meeting of the project B-VET: “Building Capacity of VET Providers in West-
Nile and Northern Uganda”, co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme under the
Capacity Building in the Field of Vocational Education and Training (CB-VET) action,
took place on 29th and 30th January 2025 in Valencia, Spain, hosted by FyG
Consultores.
The meeting marked the official start of this three-year collaboration, bringing
together a committed consortium composed of Gulu University, Gulu Women’s
Empowerment and Development Organization (GWED-G), Techlab, Center for Social
Innovation (CSI), FyG Consultores, and Muni University.
Over the course of two days, the partners had the opportunity to present their
organizations and meet in person to align the project’s shared vision, objectives, and
initial activities.
B-VET aims to develop:
– A joint training programme in accordance with the ECVET/EQF/EQAVET and
Micro-credential approach,
– A training manual for trainers in Uganda,
– Online Training Courses,
– 2 Transnational Learning Mobility Activities in Spain and Greece and
– A Virtual Learning Hub,
to enhance the capacity of TVET providers to cover the training needs of the Labour
market of the Agricultural Sector in Uganda, tackling skills mismatches and supporting
the formation of an effective vocational education and training system to guarantee
its sustainability.
The meeting concluded with a fruitful open discussion, where all partners contributed
insights and questions to ensure a strong foundation for collaboration and successful
implementation. This Kick-off Meeting represented an essential first step towards
achieving the goals of B-VET project.
